CREATIVE SLUMP GOT YOU, TOO?

It may be common sense not to start a blog post highlighting how long it’s been since you wrote the last one. Why? Well, it calls attention to something the reader may not remember. It reminds me of reading my journals locked away in the attic where every few entries, I say, “OMG! I haven’t written in FOREVER!”

But here I am.

Among the chaos in my bubble, the pandemic hit, and now navigating “balance” is overwhelming.

Running a business and dealing with life in “normal times” is tricky. In typical Virgo fashion, I’m hard on myself. So when I — a marketer — hired to help clients send out emails, don’t take my own advice, I feel like a fraud.

But life happens, and I have to prioritize self, family, clients, and health in order to get by.

To shake my hiatus, I did something small: I ordered business cards. And they are a far cry from the $25 batch I ordered years ago at Kinkos. Bless my heart.

I used moo.com (love them!) and printed the Luxe Pink Square Business Cards on 32pt, uncoated stock. They cost $45 for 50, and I worked with a graphic designer. Overall, the cost was more, but the time spent was minimal. And the result? Something stunning I can keep for years to come.

What can you do today that is small but meaningful? Organize your to-do-list? Brainstorm blog ideas? Write a blog post… gasp! I’d love to know in the comments below.

Whatever you do, I hope you enjoy it. Because if it’s not fun well, you know the rest.
